Home Is Where You Roam

Gastronaut Girls turned 3 this past June and I have to say that I couldn’t feel more accomplished as a writer, a traveler and not embarrassed to admit, an eater. While 800 Instagram followers and a few handfuls of blog readers isn’t that impressive, I am proud that sharing some of our favorite hobbies can inspire others, while never feeling like work.

I think this would be a great time to thank our biggest fans (you know who you are) because your input, comments and “likes” is motivating and most appreciated. Some of the best feedback that we’ve received along the way can best be summarized as that people wish we would incorporate more traveling into the posts. The issue with that, for me, has always been that I never wanted to write about something I wasn’t an expert about. Every restaurant that has it’s own post, we’ve visited more than once or at least tried a variety of menu items.

But the more I travel, the more I realize just how much I love sharing our adventures and I can now understand how this blog can lend itself to doing so. We don’t need to be experts to know what we love and what others will love. I am a planner all the way and I do extensive research before we travel. The personal blogs I read don’t outline the exact plan we end up going with, and those authors aren’t always experts of the locations, but it is always a great start. My hope for our Gastronaut Girls website, going forward, is that our friends and family have that same great start here.

Stay tuned!
