Since its grand opening about a year ago, we have frequented the Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten about a dozen times. We’ve even waited outside in the cold on various occasions for a chance to get into this place, due to it’s overwhelming popularity. Designed to resemble a German bar/restaurant, this awesome hangout spot serves all of the brats and beer that you could ever want. The ambiance does indeed have that European feel due to the large family style tables in the big open warehouse and because of the rooftop patio seating. They offer almost 150 beers on tap and each brew name is harder to pronounce than the next (unless you speak German)! The most popular item on the food menu is the $11 pretzel that is a perfect starter to share with your whole party! You just have to try it at least once (or about ten times, like us). Both the mustard and the cheese dipping sauces are wonderful. Some other things that we enjoy from their unique menu are the bratwurst for $12 and the cauliflower appetizer for $9. The bratwurst is a meal and it is hearty. It comes with two nice sized pork sausages, two slices of seeded rye bread, potato salad, sour kraut, and two types of mustard. Having been to Germany three times, I can vouch for this meal in that it is identical to the one you’d eat in the country, itself.
They always have different events going on, various bands playing, and Sunday trivia dinners. It is definitely worth checking out this place!
