I started writing this blog post on my phone, the second I walked into Plaza Tapatia, because I was immediately impressed. I was captivated upon opening the door because I felt as if we had actually walked into Mexico, the country itself, and not just a Mexican restaurant. Between the decor, the lighting, and the smell, it was a surreal experience from the start.
I decided to order something unique, of course. I chose the Alambre Mixto Especial, which was like a more fun version of fajitas. The meal came sizzling on a skillet with onions, peppers, chicken, steak, shrimp, bacon, and melted cheese. On the side, were beans, rice, sour cream, guacamole, and corn tortillas. It was incredible. The guacamole appetizer was amazing, as well. I was trying to figure out if it was refrigerated before it was placed on our table. Usually guac is served room temperature but this was cold and different. The margaritas were a little sweet, but maybe that is just my own personal opinion. I usually don’t drink cocktails.
The prices were great for the quality of the dishes. I would visit this place again in a heartbeat.
